About Delightful Domino (AV997)
Friendly, affectionate, loving, well-mannered, intuitive, loyal. Smart, polite and well-trained. Utterly adorable, an amazing pocket-rocket. There aren't enough words in the English language to adequately describe little Domino (but we will keep trying!)
Domino is great with people and kids of all ages. She is perfectly house-trained (will only toilet on the grass or sand, not on the pavers thank you!) She is not noisy or destructive. She wants to be with you and loves cuddles, belly rubs and general human attention. Domino is, in almost every sense, an incredibly easy dog. Of course the move to a new home will be scary and overwhelming, but she will take it in her stride and settle in within a few days.
You might be wondering why such an amazing little girl is in need of a new home, and it's a fair question. You see, Domino and her litter-sister were purchased by the same family and have lived together all their lives. Unfortunately, it isn't that uncommon for siblings (and especially sisters) to run into problems in this circumstance. It seems like such a lovely idea to have two together but more often than not, problems arise. Sometimes just a bit of sibling rivalry or sometimes - as in the case of Domino and her sister - you end up with two seriously incompatible dogs.
Over the past few months the two girls have had a few spats but two weeks ago, they got into a fight that required stitches in both dogs. It was a disaster. Domino nearly lost an eye and her lower eye-lid had to be surgically reconstructed. Their family have been loving and responsible but clearly this situation was untenable so Domino was surrendered to find a new home.
Because of her recent experiences, Domino needs to be the only dog in the home at this time. She has never lived with cats before and we suspect she might think they look like a lot of fun to chase, so a cat-free home is required.
Domino and her sister were never socialised with other dogs at all, so she's pretty inexperienced. She has seen dogs on-lead during her short time in foster care and she is not overly reactive. We suspect that (given her young age) with appropriate work from her new family she may become social with other dogs in the future. Though of course this may not be the case.
Domino's adoption fee includes 3 free one-on-one sessions with a qualified dog trainer who can help you bond with her and understand how best to handle her out in the big wide world.
This pint-sized barrel of joy is just waiting for her new forever family to come along. Don't delay, she's ready today!
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
