About Junior
Meet Junior! Junior is such a character with so much love to give. He is extremely loyal, has a great recall and likes to join his carers on adventures. Junior will grow to be medium-large in size.
As you will read further down in his write up, Junior can be an anxious little man in new environments and will be looking for a home with people who are experienced with nervous dogs to help him continue developing his confidence and social skills.
For this reason the best fit for Junior will be a home with NO young children so he can relax and feel comfortable in his new home. A suitable environment will be with children aged 12+.
Junior was raised in care and has received an abundance of love and socialisation with dogs, sheep and people. He is not one to chase and I believe he would be fine with not only sheep but also chickens, cats and other family pets.
Unlike the rest of his siblings, Junior has become quite timid around new people and especially young children, often fleeing when approached by my crawling nephew. An experienced dog owner will be necessary to give Junior the best chance at overcoming his fears and living a happy and balanced life. One where he can still be included in everything. He has learnt a lot from the other dogs he lives with, and trusts people quicker when he sees that no one else is worried.
For these reasons a calm and confident adult dog in the home is a must to help him progress. **HOMES WITHOUT ANOTHER DOG WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED**
Junior understands rules and boundaries and follows them all without fail. He is brilliant in the car and terrific on lead, and although he is not bouncing with energy, he loves our hour long morning walks. He currently lives with 4 adult dogs (including his mother) and a couple of his siblings. He is very respectful of the older dogs and takes cues from them quite well.
Junior loves playing with his siblings, but tires a lot quicker than them, opting to sit at my feet while we watch the rest of the dogs chase and fetch the ball. He is the epitome of a low-drive dog.
He is doing well with his toilet training and likes to have a place where he can go when he's feeling overwhelmed or wants to have a rest.
An active and experienced family/person willing to take Junior out on adventures, while also living with a larger sized yard will be ideal. Again, he will require someone who has the time to help him overcome his fears so that he can grow to be an ideal rescue ambassador. He may benefit greatly from going to obedience/puppy classes, if only to receive the socialisation that comes with it.
Junior has wiggled his way straight into my heart, and he'll steal yours too! If you would like to learn a little more about our charming boy, we would love to hear from you!
Junior is located in Ballarat.
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
