About Fruitbowl and Kiwi (CaV17-148 and CaV17-161)
Fruitbowl and her adorable little boy Kiwi are just the perfect pair for anyone looking for a ready-made cat family to love and treasure.
Fruitbowl came to us from a country pound and she made it here just in time, giving birth to her 3 beautiful kittens just 3 days later. Then 2 tiny orphan babies were handed in and she took them on and loved them as her own. Tragedy hit when the kittens were only 2 weeks old - Fruitbowl became sick with the flu and passed it on to her kittens. Despite round the clock medical care, one of her original kittens as well as one of the surrogate babies passed away.
Kiwi wasn't looking too good for a little while there and we had to separate him from his mum and siblings for a few days while we nursed him through. We didn't think he would make it but this boy is a fighter and here he is looking happy, healthy and strong. Fruitbowl was over-joyed to be reunited with him once he was well enough and we would like to find them a home together.
There is nothing quite like adopting a mother and kitten! You get two cats who have an unbreakable bond that we will enjoy for life. In the beginning you get all the mum and joy of a mischievious, playful kitten - but he comes with his very own baby-sitter! Then as they grow up you get two cats who will play together, nap together, groom each other and provide you with hours of entertainment.
Fruitbowl is an extremely affectionate and loving cat. We call her the 'guard cat' because she is extremely alert and aware of everything going on around her so much so that she will growl if someone is in the next door yard! She loves pats and wants to be around people all the time.
Her little boy Kiwi is growing up to be just like her! He adores people and will follow you around begging for a cuddle. He's a gentle and friendly kitten who loves to play.
Fruitbowl is very protective and doesn't like other animals so they will need to be the only pets in the home. Due to their extremely fair skin and the risk of them developing skin cancer, they need to be indoor-only to protect them from the sun.
Kiwi was born on the 9th of October. He and his mum are ready to go today!
They are currently located in Northam but can be brought to Perth for meet and greets.
Don't wait, enquire today about these beauties.
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
