About Temperance
Temperance was found in the streets of Newcastle, and as she wasn't microchipped so our vets have aged her around 2 years of age.
Upon finding herself in a pound she went into herself, very much scared and reluctant to engage with staff, fortunately over a period of time she learned to trust and when it finally came to her behavioural test she passed with flying colours and became social with people, other dogs and small animals. However, like most Shepherds she was not coping in the kennel environment so we were approached to take her and she was taken into German Shepherd Rescue NSW's hands.
Temperance is now in foster care at Kurri Kurri where she loves sleeping on her carers bed, is fully housetrained and is interacting with the other rescue dogs.
What we find with our rescues they bond strongly with the first caring hand they have contact with so Temperance has bonded strongly with her carer and tends to herd the other rescue dogs away from her to seek one on one attention.
Temperance would ideally suit a home as the one and only dog not because she is unsocial but because she wants her humans all to herself.
So we are looking for a couple or a family who are dog savvy who will ensure Temperance has inclusion in the home, is given the privilege to sleep inside at night and become an integral family member.
This young girl would be an ideal companion dog. Having passed all the rigours of an RSPCA assessment we know she has a good grounding to be a family dog.
In saying that we would recommend a home with older children who are dog savvy and tolerant of large breed dogs.
If you think you can give this lovely girl a new home please contact Linda.
Medical notes
Temperance is fully vaccinated, microchipped and desexed, she has been flea treated and wormed.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
