About Lilly and Suzie ~ Labradors (on trial 25/11/2017)
These sisters are the closest and most affectionate siblings you'll have the pleasure of cuddling. Lilly (black) and Suzie (chocolate) are purebred Labradors (with pedigree certificates), 2 and a half years old, born of the same litter and have always been together. They are medium sized.
Inseparable. Playful. Affection. Adorable. Both are shy at first, but once they warm to you, they love nothing more than pats and praise. The affection from the girls is always simultaneous. Two happy faces in your lap, looking up at you with wide eyed love, lapping up the attention, tails wagging in time. After a little nervousness in their initial approach, the girls become comfortable around the family. As much as they love attention, they are content to nap while I work away on the computer for hours.
Lilly is the ever-watchful guard, looking out for her sister. She is the more confident girl. Where Lilly goes, Suzie follows. Suzie follows her sister's lead in all areas except for ball play. Suzie is goofy in her playfulness, loves fetching a ball, which she brings straight back to you.
Lilly and Suzie are up for adoption as a bonded pair. They have some slightly anxious tendencies. They can be easily spooked, and need each other to remain calm.
Their new forever home will need to allow the dogs plenty of time inside with the family. After an initial few minutes of happiness about being with you, they quickly become very placid, lounging about, more often than, not nestled against each other. After they’ve settled in their new home, they can usually sleep outside, but if there is wind or a storm they can get a bit spooked so will need to sleep inside. Some nights they sleep in my room, others they are cuddled together outside the back door. They are well toilet trained, so having them inside is not an issue.
Lilly and Suzie's new family will need the patience to support the girls in eliminating their anxious reactions. They can be very timid when approaching you, but when they feel that first touch, a hand brushing against their face, all is well. They need training to make them better when walking, and especially need training in how to approach other dogs. A family willing to help the girls through these issues will be rewarded with a super special sister act.
For more information or to meet Lilly and Suzie, please contact their foster carer Dean on 0432 916 353 or email dean@alphabear.com.au. Lilly and Suzie are in foster care in Hamilton, NSW (Newcastle) and are not available for adoption interstate.
Lilly and Suzie's adoption fee is $890 for the pair and they are desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas, worms and heartworm, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
