Hey! I’m Rascal. I’m a shy, sweet, wee boy - and hey, I don’t wee anywhere but my tray :) I am perfectly house trained and a clean, well behaved smell-free bunny. You can let me roam all around the house. I really like to be where the humans are because I enjoy their company. I’m perfectly relaxed around the house - so long as you let me be. I don’t like being picked up at all. It’s because I was found after surviving by myself outside for a long time in the Karratha heat. My coat was all rusty coloured from bleaching in the sun and it was wiry too. Now that I’m an inside boy, it’s looking its glossy black best and feels so soft. If you’re patient with me, and lie down on the floor with me, you’ll be able to pat me on the head (not on my back). My carer loves me and says I’m a sweet little guy.
I love playing in boxes. I’ll move them around and throw hay in them. It’s so much fun! I’m scared of children because they’re a bit unpredictable. But I’m OK with rabbit friendly dogs. My foster carer is convinced that I am deaf. The vet doesn’t think so, but my carer always waves her hand to let me know that she’s approaching.
I loooooove my food! Bunnies need to eat mostly good quality hay, but also vegetables, leafy greens, fruit, seeds, roots and herbs to stay healthy. We love it if you create playground tunnels for us. Rabbits love tunnels with different levels to jump on, hide away and to dig in and especially when you change it around from time to time. Sticks and bark are great to chew on. Rabbits are happiest when they have at least 4 hours a day to roam freely around the house or bunny secured yard, but after my previous adventures, I’d be happy to be inside most of the time :) I’d like a calm, stress free environment, so I’d suit adult owners.
A few hours in a plane is absolutely worth it for remotely located animals like me - even bunnies can fly! It means I have the opportunity to be adopted. Flights to Perth for rabbits are $50 thanks to QANTAS, and I can fly elsewhere in Australia too.
