About Andy ~ Fox Terrier (on trial 19/11/2017)
Andy is a 3 year old Fox Terrier who is full of personality and energy. He has only been with his foster carer for a short time but has quickly shown that he has a lot of love to give and will take all the attention being offered. He loves to sit next to you on the lounge for a snuggle as well as playing in the yard with toys.
Andy is house trained and will sit on command. He is bright little boy who loves food so would respond well to treat based training.
Andy has come from a household where he was the only pet and had just one owner and while he gets on well with other dogs he does get a bit protective at times so would probably prefer to be the only animal in the house. We think he would prefer to return to that one on one relationship. He is so loyal and protective so would make someone living alone feel very safe.
Andy loves going for a walk and walks very well on the lead. He responds well to his name and comes when called. Although he hasn’t been taken to the beach he doesn’t seem to mind water. We think this is definitely something that could be explored.
Andy needs to be able to sleep with his new owner because this seems to be how he has been raised. He also needs to be allowed inside most of the time. We don’t know if he knows how to use a doggy door but this could be an option for convenience.
For more information or to meet Andy, please contact his foster carer Alison on alisonmgreenwood@gmail.com or 0435 535338. Andy is in foster care in New Lambton, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Andy’s adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
