About Cesar
Hi I am Cesar the great! Ive been told I am very very ridiculously good looking and I always get lots of attention and pats when I am out and about. However there is more to me than my looks, I've had a real ruff start to life, so much to happen to me before I have even turned 1. Let me fill you in on my story....
I was originally surrendered at 6 months because I told off the small dogs I lived with for stealing my food. Not only did they steal my food, but also my toys and bed. So it turns out from these bad experiences in my peak socialisation period I have now developed a thing called 'resource guarding'. So Im very worried about other dogs taking my things, however for 2 months I had a dane foster sister who taught me I have nothing to fear, she was great! Since I arrived I have had two unsuccessful adoptions, you see I am big and I like to play rough, I don't realise my own strength and the other dog I lived with didn't appreciate it, instead of teach me how to play properly, I was returned :(
Next home I was attacked on lead by an off lead dog and I developed lead issues, I got scared every time I saw another dog because I thought they would attack me. So I was retuned again even though I play brilliantly off lead!
To top it all off, my last foster home had a young boy that taunted me, and I have since become scared and uneasy when kids come close to my face. Luckily the ladies at AdoptADane saw how inappropriate it was and how uncomfortable I was, and removed me straight away from that home.
So that brings me to now, I am finally out of the kennels and living with a carer on a large property with 7 other doggos! However, its not all fun and games, a large part of my day consists of training, because my foster ma says I need to learn manners and boundaries. Whatever that is, all I know is this training business includes yummy treats so I like it! The lovely vet behaviourist lady gave me some tablets that have helped me be more relaxed and at ease, so I need a new home that is ok with giving me tablets and seeing the lovely vet lady again :)
***After everything he has been through he needs a VERY understanding and COMMITTED home. We will not be sending him off to a new home until we are 120% certain that his new family will work hard and commit to him. He has been let down by too many humans who simply put him in the "too hard" basket. Feel free to fill out an adoption application and we will talk to you further. However, we will not be rehoming him to a home with kids or cats/pocket pets.
