About Ellie
Ellie is looking for an owner who has experience with nervous dogs to give her the guidance she needs.
Ellie is a gorgeous, active puppy. She is a special girl who is looking for a gentle and committed owner.
Ellie will grow to be medium-large in size.
Ellie is a very sweet pup. She is quite reserved but is slowly coming out of her shell more and more, due to lots of different and positive social encounters, with new people and in new places. Continued slow, positive experiences will need to be continued in her new home, to ensure her confidence continues to grow.
She was raised around children, however she has become a little timid and prefers to keep her distance when they run and tumble around her. For this reason the best fit for Ellie will be a home with NO young children so she can relax and feel at ease in her new home. A suitable environment will be with children aged 12+.
She also loves to wrestle with and chase other dogs. She is brilliant in the car, terrific on the lead (is quite happy to just follow along with the rest of the pack), and loves to give the other dogs in her home plenty of kisses. She currently lives with 4 adult dogs (ranging in size) 1 pup of a similar age and a few young pups. Ellie is very respectful in giving the little dogs space when asked, and is extremely gentle with the younger pups.
Ellie has been raised with sheep, lambs and chickens - she is not at all interested in chasing them, and simply ignores them. She has stayed in the same house as cats and kittens, guinea pigs and rabbits and has been brilliant with them as well.
If she were to have unsupervised access to sheep, chickens, or other farm animals at her new home, a slow introduction is recommended.
An active, confident and experienced family/couple willing to take Ellie out on adventures and hikes, while also living with a larger sized yard or acreage will be ideal. She will require someone who can adequately exercise her both physically and mentally, daily.
Ellie may also benefit greatly from going to obedience/puppy classes, if only to receive the socialisation that comes with it, so that she can grow to be a well-behaved, balanced and obedient adult dog.
With Ellie being wary of strangers, having a confident dog showing her that they are friendly has helped her to warm up a little quicker. Because of her love of playing, her activity levels and her desire to follow directions from other dogs, a desexed, well-balanced male doggy companion in her new home is a must.
If you think you might be the right fit for our special girl, and can commit to raising a shy pup, we would love to hear from you!
Ellie is located in Ballarat.

Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
