About Arnie
Arnie is the bachelor on the block and is looking for his lady! Arnie is living in a home he considers a tropical paradise and is not willing to leave it for anything less than the perfect forever home.
Gorgeous Arnie is a popular boy who has been with his foster family for several months. They adore him and would love him to stay but they recognise he is happiest in a home with no other dogs.
We need to be specific with this gorgeous little guy - he needs a home with no kids, no other dogs and no men. He might be willing to compromise on the "No men" clause if he found the right one, however the other two specifications are essential.
Arnie is as loyal and devoted as they come, however he would definitely prefer his new soul mate to be of the female human variety. He came to us very fearful of men. Although his wonderful foster mum has worked hard to reduce his aggression towards the male gender, he is still most relaxed in female company. Ironically, there are three male dogs in his foster home and whilst he co-exists with them alright, he'd really prefer they weren't around.
The ideal home for Arnie is a woman who has no other pets, works from home (or is home a lot) and is looking for a companion to be her constant little shadow.
Don’t expect him to share the bed or his dinner though, as Arnie prefers to not only sleep in his crate, but he loves to eat in it as well. Arnie does resource guard his beloved belongings which is why he needs a home without kids.
But that doesn’t mean that he’s not loveable. Quite the contrary, in fact. In the past men haven’t been kind to this adorable little man, but rest assured , show him a gentle hand and kindness, and he will bond and become your new bestie, following you wherever you go!
So if you love walks, can give a good belly rub, like good company, and don’t expect treats to be shared (at least Arnie’s treats. He’s perfectly happy to share yours) then this adorable little man is ready, willing, and able to share your couch!

Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heartworm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Arnie has had patella repair, and then a second operation to remove the surgical pins. He is recovered now and feeling excellent but we recommend he is given a joint supplement daily.
