Sam

When I inquired about Sam’s temperament I was told that he was a ‘happy little fellow’. Having gotten to know Sam over the last few weeks, I couldn’t think of a better way to describe this endearing little old man.

But don’t let his age fool you, Sam is as fit as a fiddle and has a good portion of his life left to live. Sam loves his walks and will walk for hours with no problem!

Sam is a typical Jack Russell. He is confident, outgoing and has a decent prey drive. If you own livestock, cats or other small pets he is not the pet for you. However, he is social with respectful dogs of all shapes and sizes and would do well with a canine companion or two.

Sam has a great recall and won’t run away when you take him to the park. He is toilet trained and knows how to sit.

Sam needs to be with you always. He doesn’t like to be apart from his person and gets terribly lonely without them. He is a little antsy in the car, but the jury is out as to whether he is excited or nervous. Sam would do best in a household with another friendly dog to keep him company when you inevitably go to the store.

Sam used to belong to an elderly gentleman and was the apple of his eye. They did everything together. Including go to the beach; Sam loves a swim! Poor Sam has been a bit displaced by the passing of his best friend, but he has a resilient spirit. Sometimes he approaches people with great expectation, as if he’s looking to see if they are his long lost pal. I can’t help but hope that one day he’ll peer up to the face of the one he now knows to be his person and that this person will gaze back into Sammy’s beautifully lined eyes with equal adoration.

Sam has so much love and loyalty to give and with a clean bill of health, a fit and active lifestyle and a happy disposition I doubt Sam will be going anywhere for a long while.

Sam is a wonderful, unique, loyal companion who deserves a beautiful home. He will listen to everything you have to say with a deep gaze and a wagging tail and sometimes, when I look into those big brown eyes, I wonder if he understands much more than I’ve even spoken.
