About Bluey ~ On Trial 22/11/17
Hi, I'm Bluey! I’m a handsome, pocket sized 9 year old Cattle Dog x Jack Russell x Chihuahua. I weigh less than 7kg so if you are after a mini cattle dog with the fun loving personality of a Jack Russell and the pint-sized cuteness of a chihuahua then I'm your man!
I'm a happy little fellow who would enjoy a daily walk so that I can meet new people and have a good sniff around the neighbourhood. I would love a furever family who will include me in their activities and let me inside the house whenever you are home. I love sleeping inside and currently sleep on the kids' beds in my foster home.
I'm in foster care with another young, playful dog and I get on well with her. I like hanging out with her during the day when my foster family are working so I would be happy in a home with another small adult dog like myself - or as a single dog if you spend lots of time with me. I do like to bark when I get excited (I can be like a little kid at Christmas!) so I'd enjoy some consistent and positive training to help calm me when I get over/excited.
My perfect home would be one with a couple or family with dog savvy /respectful kids older than 12 years. I used to be best mates with a gentleman who passed away so if you are semi-retired and want a loyal companion then I'll put up my paw for the job. I'm in foster care with two older children and I'm fine with them - I do like males so I have bonded quickly to the 12 year old boy. I do like women too but I seem to gravitate towards kind and gentle men. Being a senior I'm best in a home without infants or toddlers as I'll find their noise and boisterousness too overwhelming - I don't like being cornered so little kids won't understand my need for personal space at times.
I previously lived in the same home for my whole life so my recent move has resulted in me having some toileting accidents inside. My new family will need to be understanding of this and commit to teaching me the correct place to toilet to help me settle into my new home. I would love a yard where I can run around, however I would also be suitable to a small yard as long as I was walked every day.
I love toys and treats - I will sit and can even roll over for a treat or praise. If you throw toys I'll happily trot after them and bring them back to you. I'm an adorable little dog who will give you loyalty and companionship so I'd love to hear from you if you think you will be a good match for me.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
