Misty

Dear little Misty is a very loving and devoted 15 kg little dog, who really wants to have her own human to be attached to. She has a lovely peaceful presence in the home and is really reliable with people of all ages. She has lived with a toddler and a baby and was really great with them. We have introduced her to a cat and she was extremely polite and respectful . She is also great meeting and greeting other dogs. Misty loves a game with another dog and would be great in a home with another playful dog. She is used to her own bed, but also likes to join her human on the couch for a snuggle.

Out and about she is great off lead, and really enjoys exploring and having a run around, but doesn't go far away and comes back nicely when she is called. We have walked past horses and cattle and she ignores them both, and also is not interested in cars that pass. Her favourite off lead walk is the beach where she runs and runs, and greets and plays with other dogs. On lead Misty can pull when she is excited, mainly at the beginning of her walk but she has responded beautifully to her new Canny Collar and when wearing this walks perfectly alongside. After some off lead time she walks nicely without the nose strap though.

Misty came to us in Tennant Creek as a puppy and was originally adopted by a family in Adelaide who are now relocating overseas. So Misty has returned to us in Central Australia and we are looking for a loving forever home for her. She has been sad at losing her family but is getting her mojo back now and is enjoying her bush walks and playing with the other foster dogs in her foster home in Elliott NT.

Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Misty's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide.
