About Aroha
If you're looking for a purrfect balance of affection and independence in your new feline friend, look no further than the lovely Aroha!
Although she does enjoy spending plenty of time on her own - sleeping, exploring or just watching the world - this beautiful girl is a sweet companion who loves a good, warm lap to snuggle on at the end of the day. She's a bit of a chatterbox too, and will often meow at you happily to strike up a conversation.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... would have a space I can explore when I’m feeling adventurous and a place I can retreat to when I want a quiet nap. I love to be 'on high', and have enjoyed jumping up onto my foster carer’s piano and bookshelves to get a better view. I’m very coordinated - nothing gets knocked over.
I'm looking for a family who will be patient with me at first, as I can be a little shy with new people. In no time at all, and with the help of one or two of my favourite treats, I'm sure we will be best of friends.
I am an indoor-only cat, but I like to watch what’s going on through the screen door and windows. I would probably be OK with a very secure outdoor area or enclosure to explore.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I can sometimes have short bursts of energy after I’ve had my dinner. I might give you a meow if I'm in the mood for a play or a cuddle afterwards! I like to run through my tunnel and play with my toys - I like it when you play with me too! However, most of the time I'm content to nap or sit by the window by myself.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I'm used to being an only child, so it may take a bit of time and patience for me to get used to everyone in the family. Once we’ve all gotten to know each other I’m sure being calm and gentle with me will result in lots of affection.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I'm also used to being the only furry child. When I meet new animals, I may appear uncertain and frightened by retreating under the bed or hissing from a distance. I think I will be fine with other pets if I’m given plenty of time and space to warm up.

Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at http://www.maggiesrescue.org/adoption-enquiry-cats. Please use this link rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
