About “Pandora”, Hope and Joy. Melbourne
Do you know the story of Pandora’s Box? After all the bad stuff was gone, one thing was left – hope. Our little Pandora must have heard the story, because she’s so full of hope and joy! Her foster carers say she’s the happiest dog they’ve ever looked after.
Pandora’s tiny for a greyhound (25kg), and striped like a miniature tiger. She’s a quiet girl who likes a couple of short walks a day, and lots of time dozing near her humans. Being small, Pandora isn’t into boisterous play with her greyhound foster siblings (she’s still learning about small dogs - off leash small dogs are a bit too exciting, fine with big dogs, not sure with cats, and OK with gentle kids six or over), and would rather be near her special human. Someone who works from home, or who could take a little greyhound to work with them, would be her ideal companion, although she will be very happy with a canine companion.
Her humans are Pandora’s greatest joy, and although she’s mastered toilet training and most house rules, she still needs to learn to stay calm when they come home or get ready to go walking. She tries to plaster her tiny body all over her people so the maximum amount of fur is touching them!
Pandora’s fondest hope is for a home where a sweet little greyhound can get plenty of love. She’s so adorable that we’re sure her wish will come true quickly.

Medical notes
Pandora has an eye condition that afflicts greyhounds, called Pannus, which if left untreated can eventually make them blind. It is very easily managed and requires daily eye drops, which she takes in her stride.
All our dogs are desexed, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped.
Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
