About Kia ~ 2yo Lab x Kelpie (On Trial 18/11/17)
Kia is a beautiful, lovely natured 2 year old Labrador x Kelpie mix. This gorgeous girl came to us after her previous owner had to move to a nursing home - she is a friendly dog with a happy spirit that has already won the hearts of her foster parents and everyone who meets her.
Kia is very loyal and loves nothing more than to be a part of the family. She loves walks, playing with toys and spending time at the park with her canine friends. She also finds a belly scratch irresistible and enjoys being wherever her family is. Kia would do well in a home where she has access to be inside with her humans when they are home.
Kia is a very smart girl and is eager to please, she has had a bit of training but has the potential to learn a lot more. She loves her food (a little too much!) so she has needed to lose a few kilos to get her summer body back into shape. She'll need a daily walk or run at the park to keep the kilos off. She is very well-mannered, she is toilet trained and knows to sit and wait before getting her dinner.
Kia would suit most active families, including families with older children who are confident with playful dogs. She would best suit a family where someone is home a lot or with a canine friend if you are a full-time worker - she is too social to be left alone all day. Kia loves other dogs, big and small, and has no issues getting along with doggy friends she meets when out and about. Kia hasn't been cat, chicken or pocket-pet tested as yet.
In a very short time, Kia has come to have a special place in her foster carers hearts - she is a special and loving girl who would love a family of her own.
For more information or to meet Kia, please email on lauraa1710@gmail.com . Kia is located near Erina (NSW Central Coast) and is not available for interstate adoption.
Kia's adoption fee is $350 and includes her desexing, vaccination, treatment for fleas and worms, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Medical notes
Kia is an active girl with a typical lab love of food and the waistline that comes with that! Her new family will need to monitor her weight and keep up a daily exercise routine to ensure she doesn't pack on the kilos.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
