About Kaida
Hi my name is Kaida! I am an 11 year old Japanese Spitz.
I am a quiet elderly gentleman who is looking for his new forever home. I like nothing more than laying at my foster carer’s feet and being brushed. I enjoy extremely short walks on the grass [mostly to sniff around]. I am blind and so need a family who understand that I may take a few days to learn the layout of the house. Additionally, I need a person who can lift my weight [11 kg] as I often need to be carried in and out from the backyard. I have difficulties on stairs so my new family would need to be prepared to baby gate any sudden drops.
I am selectively dog friendly but can get confused because I can’t see them coming. Introductions should be very slow and the other dog should be good at respecting boundaries and preferably lower energy [I am too tired to play these days]. I have ignored my foster carers cats, birds and mice. I haven’t shown any aggression towards people but would suit a family with older children who can approach me in a safe way so I can’t be confused about what is happening. I don’t bark or dig!
Kaida can have accidents because he gets lost on the way to the dog door. He would benefit from a family member who is home enough to walk/carry him outside to the backyard to toilet. [ though he may learn to do this himself given enough time to work out the floorplan]
Kaida should be kept indoors due to his blindness and breed.
