About Sophie
If you would like to meet the dog you must complete this form http://www.dogadoption.org.au/expression-of-interest.html
Located Kennels in Southern River, 6110.
Generally
Everyone who has cared for Sophie loves her. She is a playful, attentive and affectionate. 'No trouble'. Social.
Ideal home.
Sophie will appeal to many homes but ideally she would love a home with folks actively looking for a companion or family dog. She is a great jogging buddy. Active retirees, families with older kids or singles who work from home would love Sophie.
Sophie will not suit homes where residents are young, frail, elderly, time poor or looking for a baby sitter for their current dog.
Other dogs?
Sophie is friendly.
Cats?
No.
Kids?
We recommend any kids be primary school aged or older as a precaution in case a a child is accidentally knocked over.
Size.
20-23 kgs
Exercise requirements?
Sophie has a medium, normal, activity level. She loves her daily adventures to the park. If you miss a day she is unlikely to misbehave but she may need extra cuddles. She is a good jogging buddy too.
Escape artist?
No but she may take advantage of an open gate to wonder off and explore. She needs a secure yard with normal 6 foot fencing.
Nuisance barker or destructive?
Sophie will alert you to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker or destructive.
Toilet trained?
Yes.
Tolerance to being alone.
She has lived with another dog recently and was fine at the dog beach. She is also no trouble in the kennel she is currently living in. As she is very friendly we recommend a home where she does not spend long periods of time alone. We don’t want her sleeping her life away.
Likes.
Bringing a tennis ball to her carer – wanting to play. She also loves pats and affection.
Dislikes.
Not much. She is a very happy and resilient doggy.

______________________________________
We strongly recommend you read the profile carefully where everything we know about the dog/s is outlined.
If you are interested in a dog we invite you to submit an application form so we can learn more about your circumstances. This is to ensure we match the right dog to the best home. (one form per family - not per dog) http://www.dogadoption.org.au/expression-of-interest.html
This is for the benefit of both the dog and the potential new owner/s. It also saves time and uses limited resources more effectively.
Once the essential criteria is confirmed we put you in touch with the carer for a more detailed chat with a view of meeting the dog/s.
If you decide to proceed with the adoption we make a time for a house check.
The adoption fee is then paid (there is a 2 week cooling off period.) Please note we do not usually allow trials.
Foster carers are also able to adopt foster dogs once approved.
