About Patch
Patch is a young, bubbly and exuberant greyhound x in need of a loving foster or even better, forever home.
He has been seized from his previous owner where he lived with a number of other dogs earlier this year and has been living at a vet school until October. At the vet school, he let student practice ultrasounds on him hence his shaved belly in the photos.
Now it is time to find him a forever home where he is loved and adored for the beautiful boy that he is.
Patch copes well in kennels and is quiet and clean. Patch does not react to other dogs walking past his kennel door and does not seem too interested in making canine friends. He has found a friend in Georgie, a Catahoula girl, and plays really really really well with her (see the video of them playing).
Patch loves people and is very obedient and learns quickly but hasn't had anyone in his life yet to patiently and consistently teach him about pet life.
Patch goes for a walk every day with a mum and her 4 month old baby without any problems. He has learned to walk on a (fairly) loose lead next to the pram. Patch sniffs the baby gently and is really friendly with him. However, we do not recommend a home for Patch with young children under 5 years just because he can accidentally knock little ones over.
He is strong on lead and wants to explore his surroundings. Patch loves to smell every tree and is very interested in exploring the whole wide world. He can jump on people when he is excited but is getting a lot better at greeting people in a more polite manner. Patch does not seem too interested in treats or food when training but listens well to your tone of voice.
Patch is not suitable for a home with children under 5 years or small animals such as cats. He would love to be the only dog in the household so that all the attention is on him and he does not have to share it with another dog.
Medical notes
Patch is healthy and has no medical issues
He has had a dental October 2017 and his teeth are pearly white
