About Lucy *On Trial in Her New Home*
*LUCY IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HER NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* Lucy “Long-Legs” has been well loved but needs an owner who has the time and ability to provide more attention and training. She is very eager to please and will be a loving part of your family - Lucy’s heart is as huge as her paws and she will love you with everything she has!
Loveable Lucy definitely knows her name and will sit, recall however is not her strong suit, though Dane’s are often a tad stubborn! She still tends to get overly excited and jump up on visitors at times, but she can also be a little timid with strangers to start with. However once she gets to know you, look out, she just loves to be around people and will happily follow you all day. A home with another friendly, playful dog or where she won’t be left for long periods of time due to her love of company would be ideal.
Ms Long-Legs has the very “Dane” trait of leaning (a sign of affection) and sitting on your lap – mind you given her size this only entails half a leg on you, the rest on the floor. She is a barker, but not a drooler, will dig when bored and is not overly food oriented - unless cheese is involved. She is fed twice a day but her breakfast can sometimes still be sitting in her bowl at lunchtime.
Lucy loves to go for walks – she is incredibly strong on lead, however she is learning to walk quite nicely with a Gentle Leader and harness. She also loves to ride in the car with her head out the window, ears flapping in the wind!

This clever girl is housetrained and definitely not an outside only dog; she needs to be inside with her people, especially during the colder months as she really hates the cold and flat out refuses to keep her doggie jumper on.
She really, really likes other dogs. She is also fascinated by cats but if they run she thinks they want to be chased. A hiss or a swipe and Lucy quickly backs away!
As you can see in her videos Lucy just wants to play and play and loves tug of war and running after balls and toys, but no, she doesn’t necessarily bring them back. She is not a fan of water, no doggie pool for her, but will happily play under the pop up sprinklers.
Somewhere with secure fencing and a good sized yard, daily walks, bones to chew on and loads of love will make Lucy very happy indeed!

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
