About Burnsie
Burnsie's other name is
"nureyev" as he loves to dance around on his tippy toes. He also does a "high five" with either one or both paws! burnsie is a very sweet boy who came into the pound with bad ears, bad skin and a bad heart. He was not available for adoption until the first two were treated but does not need medication for his slight heart murmur (only needing to stop and rest occasionally while out enjoying his walk). Burnsie gets on well with his foster carer's other dogs and immediately backs down to the dominant pack leader when challenged. However he is probably not suited to a home with cats or rabbits as he will bark at them and chase them when they move (although he doesn't want to hurt them). He is both a good watch dog and the most perfectly house-trained dog his foster carer has ever met. In fact burnsie can be confidently left in the house while you go out for a short while as he 'holds on' for hours. Burnsie is very much a "people dog" and when picked up will wrap his paws around you in a bear hug. He also loves to cuddle up right next to you on the couch. . . There is no such thing as sitting too close for our burnsie! if you put him outside in the yard while he knows you are inside he will sit with his nose pressed up against the door until you let him in. He doesn't need other dogs to keep him happy but craves human company so a home where someone is there most of the time would be ideal. Burnsie steals the hearts of everyone who meets him and could have been rehomed twice already with visitors to his carer's home if the people did not have cats!
