About Monty ~ Maltese X (on trial 20/10/2017)
My name is Monty. I’m just not the everyday run of the mill backyard dog so my Foster Mum says, so I will be looking for my forever home who can supply me with all the comforts and grooming that I will require.
Nothing like a change I say. I spent the first 7 years in the yard but never did like being the backyard dog. I’m now fully house trained and just love my doggie door so I can venture in and out as I please. I love food, cuddles, and a fast walk. I’m very well behaved. I only bark when I need too, not like the other two I’m living with.
So here I am 7 years old and looking for my forever home, I really love my foster Mum and she loves me but strict house rule by the foster Dad says sorry but can’t have more than two dogs.
Right now I’m not the best looking Maltese X as I have been, well you might say left in the dog house, but when my much needed shave style grows out my foster Mum says I will be just perfect. When I was lucky enough to be taken in by Dog Rescue Newcastle I had terrible ear infections and required a full dental. I lost four of my smiling teeth from the front, but hey I’m fit and fine and can tackle any great bone or chew you can find. I will need someone who can care for me including grooming and ongoing care with my ears so I don’t end up in all that pain again. My foster mum has had me on a diet of fish, chicken and holistic dog biscuits but now the Vet has told her the infection I had was bacterial and not a yeast infection sooo I’m keen for those juicy lamb necks that will keep my teeth clean and strong.
I love children and everyone else including being very social with other four legged friends. I did have an upset with a cat not so long ago but maybe I could meet another one soon and see if it was a personality thing. Some cats can have a bad issue with dogs according to my foster Mum. For the last six weeks I have held that special place on my foster Mum’s lap and can’t get enough of that, so unless I can join another family with dogs that share, it may cause a conflict. I’d be the one to give in but my dream is for all the attention I can get as I need to make up for the lost 7 years. My foster pals have been great but I’m sure they will want the lap back ASAP. My foster mum will cry and I will wonder what it’s all about but she knows from past experience that things work out for the best .
For more information or to meet me Monty, please contact my foster mum Bronwen via email br0nn13@hotmail.com or on 0413 729 229. I am in foster care in Newcastle area, NSW and am available for adoption interstate.
My adoption fee is $350 and I am desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
