About Rosie ~ Whippet x (on trial 3/11/2017)
Rosie is a 16 week old, female, Whippet x puppy. She is a lovely, playful and friendly girl who gets along great with other dogs and kids.
Rosie is a very healthy little puppy who has been raised in a home environment. She has been very well socialised with other puppies and adult dogs (small and large) and gets along well with them all. She's met lots of people and is friendly and affectionate with them. She currently lives with children (ages 4 and 8) and will be a wonderful family dog.
Rosie will grow up to be a medium size dog. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
It would be a big plus if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for Rosie. If you don't have another dog to keep her company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time.
Rosie needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. You need good fencing with no small gaps. She can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Rosie has had a digestive problem since she came into care aged 5 weeks old. Rosie is red meat and dairy intolerant so she is on a special diet and cannot eat anything else (if she eats anything else, she can become sick and get pains in her tummy which can be very painful for her). She can be introduced to new foods from about 6 months, but will always need to have a special diet.
As Rosie is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Rosie, please contact her foster mum Nicky on 0481 732 582 or email foxhurley2012@gmail.com. Rosie is in care in Cameron Park, NSW (Newcastle area).
Rosie's adoption fee is $500 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
