About Slate
What a stunning boy inside and out!
Slate is an incredibly handsome medium to large breed mix. Like all larger dogs, he is very loyal and loves to hang out with his humans whenever they are around. He is still young and full of energy, but is also keen to have a snooze after a play or a walk!
He gets along great with other dogs, and is extremely happy to be let off the lead at the dog park so he can have a good run around and play with all the other friendly dogs there.
He will come back when called and walks on heel with the lead on and knows the basic commands such as sit, lie down, paw and wait and he will sit and wait for his dinner until you tell him it's time to eat it.
Slate has been fully toilet trained and can be left at home for up to about 5 hours during the day, although if he could choose he'd be with his human 24/7! He is very happy with one long walk a day or a couple of shorter walks!
He has a wonderful personality, and provides his foster carers with daily entertainment!! Slate believes himself to be much smaller than he is, and will sit on your lap if you let him! However, he also understands 'no' and 'leave it' so will sit down next to you if he isn't allowed on your lap!! He won't jump onto any beds or couches unless he is told to come up.
Slate will require a family with another playful dog for company or someone home most days. His new family should be committed to his ongoing exercise, socialisation and training to ensure he's the best dog he can be. He loves his humans lots so should be allowed to be inside with his family when they're home and sleep inside.
He is simply a gorgeous boy who just needs love and attention to keep him happy! If interested in this handsome young man, please complete an adoption enquiry form on our website.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
