About Nikita **Adoption Pending**
Nikita is a sassy, affectionate and outgoing princess. She came in to care at 7wks old, after being surrendered due to paralysis. She was unable to walk on her right foreleg, which meant she was constantly tripping and falling on her face as she attempted to balance and learn to walk. Her challenges didn’t slow her down one bit, nor did it dull her spirit – she is a firecracker, fiercely loyal and affectionate.
With the help of a specialised carer and our wonderful physiotherapist, Nikita has regained the use of her leg and can now walk, run, jump and play. She will always be slightly lopsided and clumsy, but it just adds to her charm and suits her goofball personality. She constantly has her foster ma in stitches with her crazy antics and expressions, and her crazy food faces have become a hit amongst the SHARI team.
Kita is a social butterfly. She adores all dogs, although she can be slightly rough for toy breeds. She is submissive to the dogs in her foster home, and will snuggle up and show she means no harm by licking their faces. Kita loves bitey face, and will lay and play quietly with her foster siblings. Kita is also feline friendly, but again can be a bit rough for their liking and has been bopped over the head more than once by her resident cat sister. Kita does already show a strong stubborn streak, so we would prefer to adopt her to a home that is experienced in large breeds and has a medium to large calm, gentle male canine to bond and play with. She is very clever and would excel at further training.
As a condition of her adoption, prospective adopters will need to attend a consultation with our physiotherapist. They will also need to commit to at least one physiotherapy session being prebooked, and be able to continue treatment for her in the future if needed. Stairs are not advised, and she will need to be assisted in and out of vehicles. Kita has recovered very well from her ordeal, and we only want the best for her – so need to ensure she won’t relapse in future.
Nikita will need a very special home, and we will be taking the time to review applications before arranging meets. Please be patient while we ensure Nikita finds a home that will suit her very individual needs. Nikita is located in Sippy Downs, QLD.

ADOPTION:
To meet, adopt or find out more details on this animal, please fill in our adoption application at our website- http://www.safehavenanimalrescueinc.com
Completing this application form does not place you under any obligation to adopt.
Safe Haven Animal Rescue Inc have a 10 day trial/settling period, if for any reason the pet needs to be returned, we will happily take them back into our care once a foster home is found and the adoption fee minus $50 (admin fee) will be returned via bank transfer within 5 working days. If the pet is returned after the trial period there will be no refund made.
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption application MUST be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal.
2. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place. You must bring your current dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. If meeting a cat we do not recommend brining your current dog/cat as this may stress the cat/kitten out.
3. The animal MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGED (travelling over a 2 hr round trip), we will NOT ACCEPT the animal to be taken on the day if less then 2 days notice is given. If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment must be made before collection of the animal.
4. 10 day trial period commences once the animal has been collected from foster carer.
5. Adoption is finalised after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email.
Sorry we can’t take calls, as our rescue is run entirely by volunteers, but we endeavour to respond to your email within 24 - 48 hours. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
