About Teddy ~ border collie x (On Trial 7/10/17)
Teddy is a 2yo, short coated, border collie x. He's a sweet, loving and timid young boy. He walks nicely on lead without pulling. He happily sleeps in the garage or kennel at night with our dog. Before being rescued he had never been inside so he's a little hesitant to come inside. He comes in a little way then goes out again. But I'm sure with more time he will love coming inside. He is a very handsome boy with eyes to melt your heart.
Teddy eats well and isn't fussy. He made instant friends with our dog, a border collie, and the two of them can usually be found playing together or sleeping side by side. Teddy doesn't really play with the ball or frisbee. He's probably never had toys before. But when he settles into his forever home and feels safe he might learn to appreciate toys.
Before being rescued, Teddy lived with other dogs and one person but didn't get much socialisation in the big wide world so he finds new things and people scary until he gets used to them. He's not aggressive in any way, he will just move away from anything that he's unsure about. If you sit and relax he will come up to you for treats and pats.
Teddy needs a home with someone who will be patient and gentle with him and let him take things at his own pace. He needs to live with another friendly dog because being with a relaxed happy dog gives him confidence. I'm sure they will become great friends.
Teddy needs a fairly calm household without children or loads of visitors, and someone experienced with dogs. He would be an ideal companion for a person or couple that wants a gentle friend to join them on walks, pottering around the garden, and watching TV. Teddy is a beautiful, loyal and loving soul that just wants to please you. To meet him is to love him. It will be very rewarding helping him grow into his full potential.
For more information or to meet Teddy, please contact his foster carer Cheralyn on 0404 497 373

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
