About Bailey ~ Border Collie x (16/10/17)
Hello there! Introducing this little cutie Bailey! He is a 4.5 month old Border Collie X boy, weighing 13kg. Bailey is a friendly, loving, energetic little man, who loves playing with his foster sisters and brothers, loves his daily walk, then curling up on the lounge for a well-deserved nap.
Bailey loves meeting new people - it doesn’t take him long to show them his affectionate side. He gets on well with other dogs, (small or large), he hasn’t had the opportunity to be with cats or children, but with his friendliness and non-aggression he might be fine.
Bailey currently sleeps inside on his cosy bed in the lounge room, he is toilet trained and his obedience training is going well, he know the basic commands i.e. sit, stay, no, ok, don’t touch, shake hands and comes when his name is called. Loves his walks with a loose lead and shows no aggression to people or dogs whilst walking.
Bailey will grow to be a medium sized dog. Puppy training classes are recommended to give your new member of the family the best start in life.
Bailey will be very happy to have an older dog as a teacher, companion and playmate as he needs to be occupied during the day if family work and/or are at school.
Bailey would be best suited to an active family with school age children who will continue his training and take him for daily walks to release his energy.
Bailey is in good health, and will be desexed when he is 5 months old (before his adoption unless he is adopted in the local Newcastle area and can be returned to one of our vets for desexing).
Bailey is looking forward to starting a new life with a forever family as they will gain love, respect and loyalty from him for years to come.
For more information or to meet Bailey, please contact his foster carer Barbara on 0422 822 169 or by emailing johnnolan64@hotmail.com. Bailey is in foster care in Singleton, NSW (west of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Bailey's adoption fee is $550 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
