About Archie
ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS A FAMILY OF MY OWN... and maybe a few new teddies.
Archie isn't a chihuahua - that's quite clear. So why is he in a chihuahua rescue group? The answer is quite simple: we intentionally rescue foxies and terriers because we get so many applications from wonderful families wanting a dog, and a friendly, playful foxie is often more suitable for family life than a tiny, fragile chihuahua.
Despite our love for foxies and their popularity, for some reason Archie hasn't found his forever family yet and no one who has met him understands why.
Archie is an all-around great dog. He's happy. He's food motivated and enjoys daily training. He's social and gets along well with other dogs.
Archie loves people and thinks kids are so much fun. He loves a game, although he can play a tad rough so a home with small children isn't ideal as he could accidentally knock them down. He wouldn't intend to hurt anyone, but he's just a bouncy boy who loves to play. Kids over 5 years are definitely fine, as Archie would be delighted to have some playmates.
He loves to play ‘throw the tennis ball’ and he’ll bring it back to you every time, waiting for you to throw it again!
Archie would love a home with other dogs that he can bond with. Unfortunately Archie is not suitable in a home with cats or pocket pets because the temptation to play is just a bit too much.
Archie is full of fun and is a delightful boy who loves to have a chat. So, if your family is energetic, love cuddles, playing games and likes to be active then what are you waiting for? Archie is your perfect match!!

Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heartworm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Archie is a healthy little man, however he recently had an eye ulcer whilst in care. This was treated with eye cream and he has fully recovered.
