About Atlas
Gorgeous Atlas is interested in everything. He loves exploring outside in the garden and wrestling with his littermates in the dirt, collecting bits of sticks and generally keeping himself busy. He loves to play with the big dogs too, and keeps up pretty well. He also loves a pick up cuddle and some lap time and belly rubs. He and his siblings get on really harmoniously with the other puppies and with the big dogs as well. They are really good around the house and improving quickly with house training. He loves his dog beds and will share happily with another dog or puppy.
This little boy has had a difficult start in life. He travelled all the from Fregon to come into care with us. As it turned out all the puppies were incubating parvovirus. With good veterinary care he survived the illness, but it took a couple of weeks for him to start to thrive again. He was not very badly affected, so he has bounced back well, and is growing like a weed now. Because of this we have given and his littermates a little longer and they will travel with their full course of 3 vaccinations completed.
He is used to being inside the house and is doing really well with his house training. Overnight he sleeps in a big crate with a soft bed with his brother, and makes it through the night until about 5 am. He loves his tucker and eats a combination of premium dry puppy food and fresh meat and is really thriving on this now. He has been very easy to get into a routine and will learn his lessons easily.
Atlas's mum is a light framed 18 kg dog with a lovely nature, and we expect Apollo to grow to about this size, but with maybe a chunkier build. Mum is also in care and will also be ready for adoption soon.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Atlas's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide.
