George is a very handsome 6 year old Great Dane X Labrador.
He was recently rescued from the pound where he spent several weeks. He wasn't coping and lost great amounts of weight so he needed an urgent rescue group to help him. Luckily a kind foster carer put her hand up and he is now putting on weight and enjoying the comforts of a home.
George has lovely manners and is toilet trained, he loves to sunbake in the backyard and loves sitting on a chair like a human. He enjoys a daily walk but is reasonably low energy due to his size and age.
George gets on with other dogs but is one of those rare dogs who actually is happy in his own company so would be a great dog for someone wishing for a best mate. What George loves most is to sit at his human’s feet and just enjoy their company without the need for constant play as so happens with younger dogs.
Medical notes
George has had the following vetwork completed:
~ Desexed
~ C5 Vaccinated
~ Microchipped
~ Heartworm Tested
~ Heartworm Treated
~ All-Wormed
~ Flea Treated
George is having Entropion surgery next week by for by us. Entropion which is an abnormality of the eyelids in which the eyelid "rolls" inward. This inward rolling often causes the hair on the surface of the eyelid to rub against the cornea (outer part of the eyeball) resulting in pain, corneal ulcers or corneal erosions. Once his Entropion's have been repaired it will cause no further issues with his eyes.
Adoption details
Adoption Procees for adopting a Lucky Paws Dog Rescue pet.
An Adoption application MUST be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal.
If successful, our foster carer will be in touch within 24-48 hours.
A 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place. You must bring your current dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. If meeting a cat we do not recommend brining your current dog/cat as this may stress the cat/kitten out.
The animal MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGED (travelling over a 3 hr round trip), we will NOT ACCEPT the animal to be taken on the day if less then 2 days notice is given. If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment must be made before collection of the animal.
A 10 day trial period commences once the animal has been collected from the foster carer.
The Adoption is the. finalised after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email. Please note this cna take up to 4 weeks pending on the microchip paperwork.
Sorry we can’t take calls, as our rescue is run entirely by volunteers, but we endeavour to respond to your email within 24 - 48 hours. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
