About Lexi
Lexi is a headstrong little sweetheart! She is 1 of 5 pups that arrived into care at almost 7wks old and is currently in foster care with her brother Scooby and sister Layla, as well as 3 host cats. Although she is a Mastiff mix, we don't believe she will be an overly large girl when fully grown. Both Lexi and Layla have stumpy tails, which their mum also had.
This cheeky little girl has settled in beautifully to her foster home and enjoys the company of her humans. She has been introduced to a few other bigger dogs while in care, and whilst she was a little unsure of them, she would certainly benefit from an older dog's guidance in her forever home. Lexi is quite happy to spend her days outdoors as long as she has someone to play with, a full belly, a comfy place to snooze and some toys (or sticks/leaves) to keep her amused. Lexi and her siblings currently sleep outdoors in a warm, cosy kennel and loves to curl up in there for a nap or some quiet time. She is also doing very well with her toilet training and proving to be a very clever little pup.
Lexi has been cuddled, kissed and adored by older children while in her foster home and we feel she would suit a home with or without another dog, as long as she was made to feel a part of the family. If she was to be an only dog, she would need continued socialisation with other dogs during her puppy stage and into adulthood, as well as ongoing training so that she grows up to be a well mannered, socialised young lady.
We would love to help get you started with that, so our amazing supporters, Best Friends - Erina, have kindly offered to include a 5 week Puppy training course with all of our Puppy adoptions (up to 16wks of age)....The Best Friends Puppy Pre-School service is a fun and interactive five-week training course that covers puppy behaviours, diet, health, grooming, exercise and play, with an emphasis on socialisation, command training, health and care. Their aim is to teach you positive ways to train your puppy in basic skills such as ‘sit’, ‘drop’, ‘stay’, and how to walk well on a lead, but also how to control your puppy’s not so desirable behaviours like toileting inside, biting, mouthing and separation anxiety.
Lexi's vet work will be completed this week and she will be ready to head off to her forever home on the 23rd September. If you feel that Lexi would be a perfect fit for your family, please answer the questions listed below and her foster mum will be in contact and possibly arrange a meet.
