About Scooby
Scooby is a lovable little man! He is 1 of 5 pups that arrived into care at almost 7wks old and is currently in foster care with 2 of his sisters, Layla & Lexi and 3 host cats. Although he is a Mastiff mix, we don't believe he will be an overly large boy when fully grown.
This gorgeous little guy has settled in beautifully to his foster home and enjoys the company of his humans. He has been introduced to a few other bigger dogs while in care, and whilst he was a little unsure of them, he would certainly benefit from an older dog's guidance in his forever home as he is quite headstrong. Scooby is quite happy to spend his days outdoors as long as he has someone to play with, a full belly, a comfy place to snooze and some toys (or sticks/leaves) to keep him amused. Scooby and his sisters currently sleep outdoors in a warm, cosy kennel and loves to curl up in there for a nap or some quiet time. He is also doing very well with his toilet training and proving to be a very clever little pup.
Scooby has been cuddled, kissed and adored by older children while in his foster home and we feel he would suit a home with or without another dog, as long as he was made to feel a part of the family. If he was to be an only dog, he would need continued socialisation with other dogs during his puppy stage and into adulthood, as well as ongoing training so that he grows up to be a well mannered, socialised young man.
We would love to help get you started with that, so our amazing supporters, Best Friends - Erina, have kindly offered to include a 5 week Puppy training course with all of our Puppy adoptions (up to 16wks of age)....The Best Friends Puppy Pre-School service is a fun and interactive five-week training course that covers puppy behaviours, diet, health, grooming, exercise and play, with an emphasis on socialisation, command training, health and care. Their aim is to teach you positive ways to train your puppy in basic skills such as ‘sit’, ‘drop’, ‘stay’, and how to walk well on a lead, but also how to control your puppy’s not so desirable behaviours like toileting inside, biting, mouthing and separation anxiety.
Scooby's vet work will be completed this week and he will be ready to head off to his forever home on the 23rd September. If you feel that Scooby would be a perfect fit for your family, please answer the questions listed below and his foster mum will be in contact and possibly arrange a meet.
