About Musk
Looking for a new best friend? Meet Musk!
Musk is your true loyal companion who greets you with a smile, waggy tail and happy dance all the time. She loves to do everything with her carer; walks, cuddles, naps, car rides, and she would go to work with her too if she was allowed! Musk loves to hang out on the lounge with her carer and enjoys a good tummy rub. She came into care obese and has been on a strict diet and exercise regime. Musk is a much happier and healthier dog now who has a new lease on life.
Musk was not well socialised before coming to us and will still bark at strangers that come to the house. Once they give her a pat though she warms up to them pretty quickly, and we believe that this behavior can be completely rectified with the introduction of some positive reward based training tied to yummy treats as she will do anything for food! The only reason this hasn’t been started already is that the priority has been to get her weight down to a healthy level as quickly as possible.
During her time in care, Musk has been socialised with a range of dogs. She prefers to make friends with those around her size and loves to play with the puppies and young small dogs that she is in care with. Musk is fine around big dogs but is just wary of them and prefers them to be calm and gentle around her. Daily walks are an important part of keeping Musk healthy and happy so these must be a part of her new life. She walks well on the lead and is excellent off lead.
Musk is a good traveler in the car, can sit on command, is crate trained and house trained. She is not a chewer, nuisance barker or digger and hasn’t damaged anything in her carers home. Musk will steal food if given the opportunity but knows that she is not supposed to – no one said dieting was easy! Her diet will need to be continued in her new home as she still has more weight to lose, but the hard work is definitely worth it as you can see how much better she feels as the kilos drop off.
We are looking for a home where Musk will be a part of the family and included in the daily activities. She must have someone home with her or be able to go to work with you as her new owners will be her everything. Another small friendly dog would be great for her as well but is not essential. Musk is best suited to a home with older or no children, she’s just not overly fussed on them. She must be allowed inside and will need a bed inside near you to sleep on at night.
If you would like to make this darling girl a part of your family then let us know by filling in an application on our website.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
