I've been adopted!
About Ace our solider
Hi all, it's me Ace. You may remember a few weeks back when my brother Bodie & I came into FFFRs care. Well, my bro Bodie was adopted 2 weeks ago, I was ready to go up for adoption as well but unfortunately something happened to me. At our foster home Bodie and I had 2 foster pooch siblings, which we all got along awesome. As I'm a quiet boy, I'd sometimes play but normally I'd prefer to lay with them when it was relax time.
One afternoon our foster siblings were playing with their tug rope, and Bodie and I were chilling watching them. Things got a little heated between the 2 big dogs and unfortunately they ended up having a fight. My foster mum and dad were there and tried to break up their fight but boy o boy...it was out of control. I got really scared and I went to run inside but I made the wrong move & I ended up in the middle of the altercation my foster folks got me out of it as quickly as they could. I was not in a good way. I was quickly raced to the 24 hour vet and was checked over. I was given pain relief to get me through the night until our vet opened in the morning as their was nothing the vet could do for me that late at night. After my vet trip I was taken to a new foster home with my brother. I slept the night and although I was wondering why this all happened, I wasn't in pain and was happy just to be petted and told everything was going to be okay. The next morning my new foster mum took me straight to our vet who new i was coming. I went straight into emergency surgery. I underwent a 3 hour 15 minute surgery, and that whole time my vet was stitching me back up. One of my ears was badly damaged & although my vet was hopefully that he could save it, it was a 50/50 chance of it being okay... Guess what folks, after 40 stitches alone in one ear it's safe to say the surgery was successful I my ear was able to be saved. All my scars have healed beautifully, and as my stitches are all pit now, my hair is starting to grow back & thankfully theirs no on going issues that will effect me as I grow older. So now I've told you that, it's now time to tell you how simply amazing I am. After what I went through one would think I'd be scared of dogs, right? Well... I thought to myself, sometimes dogs fight, kids fight & even adults fight so I can't let what happened scare me, so I've put that all behind me and I love dogs...at my foster home we have a big dog, a medium size dog & a little dog & they're all so much fun to play with. But the one animal i have really bonded with, is their cat we even share food & sleep on the couch together. My foster mum told me her cat doesn't always like foster puppies, but he certainly loves me. Theirs kiddies here too, and we have so much fun playing around. I've pretty much got toilet training down pat. As I've had to be inside due to my surgery, I have had to be taken out to the bathroom so I've learnt really quickly. I sleep in my foster mums room on my own bed next to hers (yep... I do jump up on her bed sometimes but she doesn't mind) but haven't had one accident over night, I hold on until the morning. What I'm looking for in my new forever home is love, and lots of it. Before I came into care I come from a not so nice home, so I've had to learn to trust people and I must say, I've come so far. I'm not your typical puppy, I'm a dude that would prefer to lay on the couch with you, and pretty much be with you all the time. I know how to sit, shake and I'm learning to wait for my food. I've bonded with my foster mum so much, and when she goes out I have taken a liking to chewing her shoes, I mean I hear all these stories about shops & going out to dinner...why can't I go? I'm a boy that is very loyal & having someone home with me is what I love. I know you'll have to go to the shops to get my food and all so I'll give you the all clear to do that. On a serious note, I do have to learn that I can be alone and I can't expect my owners to be home all the time, spoil me with toys!!
