About Monica
Little Monica, has come from a pretty awful background.
She has come from a puppy mill, and lucky for her and many, she has landed in the right hands.
She is a very timid little dog and easily gets spooked by noises.
Monica does have a lovely disposition towards other small dogs, but we have found she is frightened of big dogs.
She would suit a quiet semi or retired home, with another dog, but she would suit being the centre of attention on her own.
Monica does have the dachshund body, but legs a little longer.
And her nose is a little shorter than a dashy.
She does have the two different coloured eyes and the dapple colour of the dachshund.
All her vet work has been done, and she does have a clean bill of health.
We feel she does need a little more weight on her, gradually.
She just wants to start enjoying life and become a pampered pooch.
Medical notes
She has been given a yearly heartworm injection.
Adoption details
We shortlist families who will fit the dogs needs and contact them to arrange an introduction. If everything works well, after a timeout to be sure, an adoption agreement is completed. As the adoption donation is transferred the dog will pass into your hands.
Our Adoption Donation Fees vary. Elderly animals or animals with health problems can differ from those for young or purebred dogs.
All our dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and treated for fleas. They are bathed and groomed, and have had a consultation with our vet who discusses appropriate treatment which we arrange while the dog is in our care. All dogs are desexed at our expense.
We understand that in the first week, issues occasionally occur where training or behaviour modification is impractical and if no other recourse is available and the dog needs to be rehomed, we will agree to refund part of the adoption fee less $100 administration fee. Due to our system processes this will not be instantaneous but will go into your bank account within the next 10 working days.
After the sixth day, we require first refusal if the dog is to be found a different home, but you will not be eligible for a refund.
