About Maggie ~ Cattle Dog X (On Trial 18/9/17)
Maggie is a beautiful, super sweet 1 year old cattle dog cross (possibly with staffy). She is at a great age where she's grown out of naughty puppy habits like chewing, digging and toilet accidents, but still has lots of happy energy and is excited about exploring the world. She loves to bond with new people, including children and animals.
Maggie can be shy in some situations but is a massive snuggler who just lives for pats and cuddles. She plays really well with all types of other dogs and is not aggressive. She'd love to be with a playmate when you can't be home with her, but she doesn't fret when left alone. She is happy both inside and outside, but would prefer a home where she is included in the family as much as possible from weekend outings to the beach, to cuddling up inside in the evenings. She is a bit of a shedder but this can be kept in check with regular brushing. She is a medium energy dog who will need a walk each day.
Maggie is gentle loving soul who will be a model dog in places she feels safe, like at home and in the car, but she still needs work when walking. She can be very afraid of her leash and will try very hard to get away from her leash so can be difficult to walk but she is improving and with patience and positivity she should get over this fear. This challenging behaviour means Maggie would be best suited to someone with some experience with dogs, or who feels they will be dedicated to helping Maggie improve. She is not particularly big so strength isn't required, just patience and love. She will reward your patience by being an incredibly loving and affectionate best friend.
For more information or to meet Maggie, please contact Sue on 0419 634 957 or email suemasens65@hotmail.com. Maggie is in foster care in Belmont North, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Maggie's adoption fee is $500 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
