About August
Hi everyone my names August, I had a really hard start to life, I was scared of everything, I would shake in fear. I came into care with patches of fur missing all over my body and my skin was red from the obsessive itching. Its a time of my life i will happily forget. Iv now been with my foster family for almost a month and wow they have brought back the sparkle in my eyes and the shine in my coat, My spirit is restored and my tail wont stop wagging. My confidence has grown and my love for humans again has been restored, I love cuddles and kisses they are my most favorite thing. I learn't car trips take me to new and exciting places, I am so friendly with other dogs and just love to play and play and play. I used to hide from the sound of squicky toys and now they are one of my favorite things. Fetch, man I love fetch so a endless supply of tennis balls at my new home is a must 🙂 I love cats to, they used to scare me a lot and i would run away and hide, now i just sit still and let them just walk on by. I was absolutely terrified of being indoors when i arrived into care i always thought i would get in trouble but now i sleep indoors at night and its so warm and comfortable, I am toilet train so no accidents during the night. I am intelligent and learn new things quickly. My skin and confidence is come along in leaps and bounds and now im ready to embark on my new adventure and new life with my forever family.
Love August

Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home, or in a public place. If you have other animals they must be at the meet.
If at the meet, you and the dog get along- you have the option of either taking the dog on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the dog on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days' worth of food for the dog, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold dogs for 3 days or longer, without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the dog, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters and so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit non refundable to avoid time-wasters, especially when it comes to puppies under 5 months of age. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the dog. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you pay a $100 holding fee so we can hold the dog for a week- the day you collect the dog you will sign and adoption contract, and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate and microchip number implant details.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
