About Buckley ~ Staffy (On Trial 8/10/17)
A happy spritely 14 month old Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Still a pup at heart, Buck looks smart in a bow tie! He is an outside dog (mostly) who doesn't bark, even when the neighbour's dogs are having their daily 2 hour barkathon. Everyone comments on how stunning this young lad looks, often with a smiley look on his face and very keen for a pat or a belly rub.
Excellent on the lead and very social with other dogs. His current house-mate is a small lap dog and the two happily play for hours. We often find Buck contently lounging in the sun in the backyard. He is just as happy jogging by your side in the park. At the dog beach Buck loves getting wet and having fun with the waves. While working inside the house or cooking, Buck loves to plonk himself on the floor beside you. A real companion dog.
Random fact, Buck loves his salad greens! His daily meal includes a portion of tatsoi (similar to baby spinach). He loves a bone to chew.
This Staffordshire Bull Terrier is a strong and fit dog. Buck looks tough, but is sensitive and a great companion. I'll often spend half a day working in the backyard, and this boy is happy just being around people. Unlike other Staffy breeds, he doesn't suffer from separation anxiety, and can be left to himself without any whining or barking.
Buck's ideal new owners will be active, able to take him for a daily walk - although he will be up for much more vigorous activity! He would love a pooch companion at home, but socialising at the park can suffice. A happy-go-lucky boy full of enthusiasm, at this puppy stage adults or a family with older children will be best. Even though he love it outside at the moment, come the hotter months, he'll need a yard with a bit of shade.
This smart young boy can sit, stay, come and leave it, and is quickly learning new skills. When Buck first came into our home he could only sit. He enjoys learning, and just 15 minutes a day is seeing him grow into a well-trained new best friend and grow out of his puppy habits. Already well conditioned and receptive to training. Buck is looking for an owner who can watch and help him grow, and teach him a few new tricks.
Buck would like to meet his new family, come say hello!
For more information or to meet Buck, please contact his foster carer Dean on 0432916353 or email dean@alphabear.com.au. Buckley is in foster care in Hamilton, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
