About Amaia
Amaia is an absolute sweetheart! She is 1 of 5 pups that arrived into care at almost 7wks old and is currently in foster care with her brother Lucas and 4 host dogs. Although she is a Mastiff mix, we don't believe she will be a large girl when fully grown.
This little lady has settled in beautifully to her foster home and enjoys the company of both other dogs and her humans. She's quite happy to spend her days outdoors as long as she has someone to play with, a full belly, a comfy place to snooze and some toys (or sticks/leaves) to keep her amused. Amaia is crate trained and loves to curl up in there for a nap or some quiet time. Toilet training is well underway and she does tend to follow the bigger dogs lead, so I'm sure this will be mastered in no time.
Amaia has been cuddled, kissed and adored by older children in her foster home and we feel she would suit a home with or without another dog, as long as she was made to feel a part of the family. If she was to be an only dog, she would need continued socialisation with other dogs during her puppy stage and into adulthood, as well as ongoing training so that she grows up to be a well mannered, socialised young lady.
We would love to help get you started with that, so our amazing supporters, Best Friends - Erina, have kindly offered to include a 5 week Puppy training course with all of our Puppy adoptions (up to 16wks of age)....The Best Friends Puppy Pre-School service is a fun and interactive five-week training course that covers puppy behaviours, diet, health, grooming, exercise and play, with an emphasis on socialisation, command training, health and care. Their aim is to teach you positive ways to train your puppy in basic skills such as ‘sit’, ‘drop’, ‘stay’, and how to walk well on a lead, but also how to control your puppy’s not so desirable behaviours like toileting inside, biting, mouthing and separation anxiety.
Amaia is yet to have her vet work done but we are happy to organise meets in the next couple of weeks, and secure an adoption with a non refundable deposit so that she can head off to her new home once her vet work is done.
