About Shakespeare
Shakespeare is a fun-loving boy who is full of life, in the right home, he will grow into a very loving and loyal boy.
Shakespeare had a bumpy start to life but since coming into our care he has enjoyed all the love and company he has received from his foster family and the resident dogs in the home. This handsome boy is very sweet and loves having fun. He has a dominant personality and will require a strong, experienced leader who is willing to continue his training and help him become the best dog he can possibly be. Shakespeare will be a very trusting and loyal member of his wonderful new family.
He loves to go for walks with his person and to play with other dogs. Regular outings to the park are great fun for him to mix and play with his canine friends. He is very social and regular outings will be very important to continue his social skills.
Shakespeare would do extremely well with a confident doggy companion to keep him company and will be happy to play with him throughout the day. He is very energetic and will require a good sized yard where he will have plenty of room to move as he grows. A dog of similar size will be a huge advantage to help him settle into his new home, offer his guidance as he settles in and teach him important boundaries as he continues to learn.
While he has been in care, Shakespeare has been responding well to his training. He is a quick learner and now knows several commands (sit, drop, stay, leave, in and out), but can be a little stubborn at times. Further obedience training will be a great advantage to him and will help him continue to understand what his family are asking of him. It is also a great way for him to create a trusting bond with his new family members. He has been exposed to small animals but is still learning correct behaviour. These little creatures are very exciting to him. He is already good with chickens although ongoing training will be needed in this area if his new family has, or would like to get small pets like guinea pigs and rabbits.
Shakespeare has begun to show a tendency to be protective of his food when around other dogs. This issue is being worked on in his current foster home, but will need to continue to be worked on in his new home.
Shakespeare is currently offered a special place in his foster home and him and his siblings are welcomed to share inside time with their foster family. He is completely toilet trained, sleeps inside overnight and can hold on until morning.
This boy has some very special qualities that we know his new family will fall in love with. If you believe you have a wonderful home that Shakespeare could become a part of, we look forward to hearing from you.
Shakespeare is currently in Ballarat, VIC
Medical notes
Shakespeare has been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
