About Pepe ~ Kelpie X (on trial 1/4/2018)
Let me introduce you to Pepe! He is an 8 month old Kelpie X. Pepe already has good basic training. Ge understands “sit”, “wee wee”, “no”, “on your bed” and “stay”. He is a keen student who is motivated to figure out what you are asking of him, and enjoy’s the attention. He responds well to positive reinforcement/ reward based training and this should be continued. He had a bit of a rough start in life but is doing great with his new start.
Pepe would be fine as an only dog if you don’t work away from home, but if you work full time Pepe would like to have a canine companion for company. Preferably a dog of similar size or larger. During the day when we are at work Pepe and his foster brother have toys to keep themselves stimulated. They also have an undercover area with a kennel and soft bedding to sleep on. Pepe has not made any attempts to escape.
Pepe was an only dog before he came into foster care, but as he started to come out of his shell we wanted to find another companion for him while we were at work. He has gotten along with dogs of all sizes. He has met a mini foxy, Labradors, Border Collies, Mastiffs, other Kelpies and other dogs. He has met a caged rabbit. His way of saying hi was to approach, sniff and then just move along. He has not been around cats as of yet. He is a friendly and sociable dog who warmed up really quick to our friend’s 8 year old son.
Pepe’s ideal home would be with someone who has time to spend with him and help him be the best dog he can be. He enjoys his walks and does keep a pace with you if you lightly jog. He enjoys the different smells he comes across. He likes to play chasey with his foster brother. Both Pepe and his foster brother sleep in our room on their own beds. They sleep soundly until we wake. Pepe is looking forward to meeting you and any other furry animals you may have.
For more information or to meet Pepe, please contact Donna on email Timmypebmilo@hotmail.com or 0466 099 426. Pepe is in foster care in Warabrook, NSW (Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate. Pepe's adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
