About “Willow”, Character in the Making. Melbourne
Little Willow has come so far! Willow was terrified when she came into foster care, but is starting to show her playful side and her big, silly grin. Willow’s getting more curious and confident every day, and has started doing cheeky puppy things like stealing shoes and pieces of paper. She knows her name and the word “no”, can wait nicely crossing the street, and is making progress walking on a loose lead and toilet training. Most importantly, Willow has learned to trust, and is ready to find some special humans to trust forever.
Willow needs a quiet home with patient humans, who’ll cherish the challenge of bringing a gentle, timid young dog to life. She still sometimes needs encouragement going for walks (but loves them once she gets going), finishing her food, and staying calm around loud noises. Willow’s fine with grown-ups and other dogs, but is frightened of children and not yet sure about cats. Willow has a sensitive stomach and sensitive paws, and is currently on a healthy diet with no processed food, which she’d like to continue in her forever home.
Adopting Willow will be a delightful journey of bringing a sweet little lady out of her shell. With her lopsided ears, playful “baby seal” impersonations, and daft enthusiasm for early-morning tummy-rubs, Willow’s already showing signs of the adorable character she’s bound to become. Come and meet her and see how much she has to offer to a very special home.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
