About Ivar (D3647)
Hi people. I’m Ivar and they say I’m a real sweetheart. I’m affectionate and very gentle. I’ve met quite a few children and I like them. And I love pats from visitors. Going in the car is great! I sit still, watch calmly out the window and occasionally nudge for a pat.
I’m looking for a very special home. I’m part dingo and I think it’s really important that whoever adopts me understands fully that dingoes are very different to dogs.
I’m extremely active and prefer constant company. When I have that, I’m an absolute angel. If I don’t have it, I may go out seeking it. It’s because dingoes intensely bond to their Loved Ones. It will be important for me to be a full part of family life. Purebred dingoes can live up to 18 to 20 years, so I’m looking for someone who will make a lifelong commitment to me. In return, you will be adored and just love spending time with me - he he! And I reeaaaallllllly will enjoy learning things from you - but, and this is serious, most dingoes only follow your commands if they feel like it. After all, you’re our peers; not our owners :) But then again, I’m part dog too.
You probably already know that dingoes are very intelligent. That, and our incredible flexibility and strength mean we are very skilled escape artists. We can climb 7 foot fences - yep! And of course we can dig our way out too. We simply get bored on our own and want to be with our Loved Ones. You might get a shock to find a dingo on the kitchen worktop or on a table - although I’ve never done that! But I have been known to raid the pantry!! We tend to be sensitive to noise and change. So I might prefer a rural environment, but I’m a pretty outgoing, cruisy fella - so far so good for me in the township :) And I’m relaxed too when I’m exploring new areas, provided I’m with My Humans or their friends.
While I’m confessing all, I’m one of those canines that loves to chew things. It’s one of the ways I explore my world and it’s a nice way to for me to relax too. I won’t want to chew as much if I have two walks and 10 minutes of training each day. That training is hard work and wears my brain out. And chew toys! Lots of different chew toys that you can swap around! And big frozen bones! Yum!
I’ve been meeting some nice dogs and have got a special buddy I play with at the beach. I’ve had some bad experiences with dogs before I was SAFE, but if you can help me with proper introductions that would be just brilliant as it’s really fun to play with them :)
If you’re after an affectionate, active and fun companion, pick me! Can’t wait to get to my new home and meet ya! So click on the link below to make an enquiry about me. SAFE will get back to you quick smart!
