Nature
Betsy and Sweetie are affectionately known as the grande dame duo. These stately ladies have been in care for several years and have made slow but steady progress over this time. Betsy has bonded with her foster carer and will join her on the couch for pats and scratches. Sweetie does not like to be approached, but she is quite content doing her own independent thing, particularly in the secure outdoor cat run. Both ladies are a tad eccentric, so you’ll need to learn their quirks and peculiarities to keep them on side. It is their eccentricities that amuse their foster carer the most, though. While still reserved in nature, they are learning to ‘let their fur down’.
Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
The sisters prefer each other’s company and avoid other cats. They also choose to ignore dogs, being such inferior creatures. Due to Betsy’s stress grooming, they are best suited to a quiet home with no children or older children. They will need a family with unflappable patience to win them over.
Likes/Dislikes
Betsy and Sweetie enjoy their evening frivolities with each other when the lights do down and the house becomes quiet. They are very sweet chasing each other around and being cheeky. They have also just discovered the joys of catnip, often looking ungainly hilarious swatting catnip toys around the house. Their foster carer tries to stifle her laughter so as not to offend them. Betsy has a secret passion for watching for the footy with her foster carer, especially if it’s a poultry-named team like the Eagles or Swans, and Sweetie enjoys late night viewings of Mrs Brown’s Boys.
