Floyd

Introducing the very charismatic and handsome Floyd who attracts admirers wherever he goes. Since arriving in foster care, Floyd has been very busy, including getting desexed, a visit to the dog wash, worming and vaccinations, going from starving to eating like a king, seeing how smart he is at learning better manners (elephant stamp there) and separation from Lloyd his brother and partner in crime.

Floyd is a really sweet boy, he loves his treats which is making his basic sit, stay, shake training easy. Initially he can be a little jumpy but calms down quickly and will sit and wait patiently for his dinner. His inquisitive nature still has him wanting to check out what's cooking by placing his front paws on the bench tops but we're working on that. His introduction to the resident cat, poultry and small livestock (sheep & goats) hasn't been great but after a swift kick from a pony he has learnt to respect and be wary of the cattle and horses.

Floyd loves living inside by the fire and always uses the doggie door to go out and do his business, as such he's never had an accident inside. He loves his toys and is capable of entertaining himself without being destructive. He is also in care with a couple of grumpy old terriers whose growls and snaps he respects and ignores, as well as a couple of high level playmates (kelpie & viszla) who he plays great with. He will need to go to a home with another friendly doggy for company.

Floyd is excellent when out and about and loves going on adventures with his people. He has been to a busy market where he walked really calmly on the lead even though he was wanting to meet every other dog and people and he attracted a lot of attention!
He travels well in the car, he is not a digger or a fence jumper and would ideally be suited to finding his forever home with an active family who preferably have a canine playmate and want to include him in their active life. Overall, Floyd is such a sweetie who will love his people endlessly.
