Shadow

Shadow is a small Pomeranian x papillon. He was initially a timid little dog and took a short time to settle into foster care and adjust to new people however once adjusted he has been a great little companion.
Shadow spends his days outside with his foster brother and is most thrilled to have you home of an afternoon. Generally his evenings and night times have been spent inside.
Shadow sleeps in the bathroom however is rather unimpressed with this but with much reluctance is coming to terms with it. He loves to follow you around the house or sleep on the couch near you.
Shadow is a very clever little dog and is starting to learn some basic commands. He was very quick to learn the dog door to take himself in and out as he pleases and to take himself to the toilet.
Shadow has been living with two small Maltese x dogs and a cat. He gets along well and spends time playing with his enthusiastic dog foster brother. Shadow has found bigger and bolder dogs to be intimidating so will unlikely suit a home with large or boisterous dogs. He has been quick to learn appropriate cat behaviour, so whilst interested in her he is respectful and keeps his distance.
Shadow loves a walk with the other dogs and is quickly learning appropriate behaviour on the lead such as not becoming excited about cars or barking at people.
He is wary of people he doesn’t know and will take some time to adjust to new people, he will likely need slow and easy introductions. Shadow will do well in a home where he can have ongoing training to help him reach his potential and a home where clear boundaries will be established and maintained. Previous experience with this type of dog may be beneficial for a smooth transition as he is a sensitive little soul and can be nervous or a bit cheeky with things he doesn’t want to do or people he doesn’t know. He has been caught jumping onto surfaces he shouldn’t be on to get to the cat food and is inclined to jump onto furniture, however he does know when he is being told off and has been responding appropriately.
Shadow is a beautiful little boy who would make a wonderful and loyal companion.
