About Dallas ~ Border Collie x JR (On Trial 9/9/17)
Dallas is a small to medium sized 7 year old male Border Collie x Jack Russell who weighs around 10kg. He has distinct white markings including a number 1 on his neck. Dallas absolutely loves people. He is a very loyal, energetic and fun loving dog. He has become well adapted to living in the house however he was originally an outside dog. He still needs reminders to go to the toilet as living inside is fairly new to him.
Dallas has basic obedience training, is quite intelligent and is a fast learner. His favourite things are going for walks, hanging out with people and catching food in mid air. He has adapted well to living with a cat indoors. Dallas has come from a home with children and is very gentle and loving in nature.
Dallas may make a good companion for another dog based on how quickly he adapted to our cat. However we are still unsure of how he interacts with dogs overall as he gets overexcited when meeting them on walks and needs more exposure and training to act appropriately. While on a lead he needs a walking harness as he tends to pull in his eagerness. He is a strong little fellow but is learning to walk at the pace set by the person walking him.
Dallas' ideal home would be where he is part of a family, or someone who has plenty of time to interact with him or possibly one with a new furry friend. He doesn't bark often, is yard friendly and doesn't try to escape. He returns when called off a lead but can be excited and needs added promptings to respond.
This little fellow is so cute as he gives attention to his human friends and his greetings are often a spectacular display of pure joy as he shows his love of human company.
For more information or to meet Dallas, please contact his foster carer Stephanie email stephantim@yahoo.com.au. Dallas is in foster care in Salamander Bay, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Dallas' adoption fee is $200 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
