About Guinevere
Please note: Guinevere's new home will have another dog for company.
Guinevere ADORES her walks, but otherwise is a quiet little girl who wants to be close to her people. Guinevere responds to her name, and is definitely motivated by affection rather than food – she loves praise and affection and all she wants in the world is to sit close to you, and sleep close to you. Guinevere loves to run off leash, keeping her nose to the ground. One of her happiest places to be is at the beach.
She is now used to having a coat, harness and lead put on with no worries – she is still a little wary of strangers, children on bikes and occasionally loud noises give her a scare – but is getting braver by the day. She is now interacting very well with her foster brother and sister, and also very well with her feline foster sisters – she is great with her foster carer’s dog-friendly cats. Guinevere would be best in a home with no birds or possums as she is a bit fixated and loves to chase
Guinevere is learning basic commends such as “Up” and “Wait” and has pretty well mastered house training. She is a very sweet girl who will learn quickly with patient, structured training.
Guinevere’s ideal home will be with other animal companions, and someone around during the day. She should not be left outside alone as she will dig under fences. Guinevere loves her toys, she carries them around and does pull apart the soft toys. She also has an inclination to chew, sometimes things she is not supposed to.
Guinevere will need some time to adjust to her new home when she is adopted. She will need loads of affection, reassurance and patience. A fixed routine is so important to help her feel safe and secure.
It is hard not to love Guinevere – she will be a very loyal companion for someone as she very quickly becomes attached to a caring, affectionate and loving human.
Please note: our dogs are not available for interstate adoption. We also do not adopt to people under the age of 25 years.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
