About Emma ~ Shih Tzu x ~ On Trial 1/9/17
Introducing Emma - a gorgeous little 2 year old Shih Tzu cross bundle of affection.
Emma is a bubbly and confident little girl who loves to play and will continually follow you around like a shadow.
Emma is an inside dog most of the time, however she does like to play outside with her doggy brothers and sisters on a nice day. She is in foster care with 3 other small dogs and she loves their company. She will need a doggy friend around her own size or someone who is home a lot and will take her on outings with them. She isn't a girl who will cope with being left alone on her own as she is way too social.
Emma is toilet trained and sleeps inside - when you say "time for bed" she runs straight into her crate and you don't hear a peep from her all night. She is in foster care with chickens and cats which she finds way too interesting so we would prefer her to go to a home without them.
Emma is in care with older kids and teenagers and she is good with them. She may suit a variety of family situations - a single or couple with another dog, or a family with older kids who are respectful of small dogs. When she first came into care she had skin issues - she is now on a strict fish based dry-food diet (Holistic brand which is available at all good pet food stores) so her new family must commit to keeping her on this diet to keep her feeling healthy and itch free. She will need clipping every few months to keep her looking beautiful.
For more information or to meet Emma please email her foster carer Karen at karen1.elizabeth.davis@gmail.com.
Emma is in foster care near Gosford (NSW Central Coast) and is not available for interstate or long distance adoption.
Emma's adoption fee is $500 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, microchipping, flea and worm treatment. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
