About Vinnie ~ Poodle X (on trial 27/9/2017)
This is Vinnie, a sad surrender to Dog Rescue Newcastle. Our family of four (two children 5 and 9) have come to know and love Vinnie over his foster stay.
Vinnie is a 6 year old Poodle X who will be a very loyal friend. He is an inside dog but not a yappy one. He can get excited for the first 2 minutes of you coming home but settles down in no time. Vinnie has quickly attached to our family and feels reassured when he knows where everyone is. Vinnie sleeps inside happily on his bed as long as he knows you are not far away. He would be even happier if he could sleep at the bottom of your bed.
Vinnie has basic training; he can sit, shake and will come when called. He is intelligent and would respond to further training. He understands boundaries in the home and will respect them with only a gentle reminder. Vinnie gets very excited when he sees his leash and has been enjoying a couple of walks around the local neighbourhood each day while staying with us. He is toilet trained but can be prone to some light accidents particularly when excited. He can last the night though if taken out just before bed time. He has a beautiful soft coat and loves to be brushed daily.
All indications are that Vinnie would be fine with other pets. He has lived with a cat and they just ignored each other. He has showed gentleness towards other dogs while out walking and is really nice to walk with.
Vinnie would suit someone looking for a really good mate as company. Someone home more often than not as he craves social interaction. He will give back it to you in spades.
For more information or to meet Vinnie please contacting foster carer Grace via email tinlingrace@gmail.com. Vinnie is in foster care in Newcastle area, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Vinnie's adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
